Volunteer to become a literacy tutor with PVLALG and help adults develop their reading, writing, and communication skills!

What to Expect
PVLALG tutors typically work one-on-one with a student in hourly weekly tutoring sessions. Training for how to tutor will be provided, so no prior experience is required. All you need is a passion for literacy and a willingness to learn. Tutors are asked to commit to at least 6 months, which will fly by before you know it.

How to Join
Becoming a tutor requires an application with the Town of Prescott Valley, including a background check, and a 5-hour tutor training with the PVLALG tutor group. To apply as a volunteer, sign up on the Town of Prescott Valley's website and fill out their volunteer application. A few days after submitting the application you will hear from them that you are cleared. The other step is to call or email the Director, Rita Bosley, as listed below. Trainings are offered every 6-8 weeks. After these two requirements are satisfied, you are ready to volunteer as a tutor to one of our assessed ESL or disadvantaged students.
